SAKSHAM
Empowering the Girls and Women
“Saksham” means empowering individuals to become socially, mentally, and financially capable and independent.
Saksham achieves its goal through Six core strategies:
- Skill Development: Providing vocational training and workshops to build practical, job-ready skills.
- Education & Awareness: Conducting sessions on financial literacy, mental health, social rights, and personal development.
- Mentorship & Counseling: Offering one-on-one guidance, career counseling, and mental health support to foster personal growth.
- Entrepreneurship Support: Assisting individuals in starting small businesses through microfinance, backward and forward linkages, training, and mentorship.
- Community Engagement: Organizing community-driven initiatives to create support networks and raise awareness about key issues.
- Partnerships: Collaborating with NGOs, government agencies, and private organizations to amplify impact.
Creating livelihoods through micro-enterprises for girls and women is one of the notable steps towards developing sustainability, improving household income, and creating jobs where needed.
With this in mind, the skill development program under Project Saksham was initiated on 23rd February 2017, with support and donations from Mrs. Shivraj Kumari Rana.
